In winter, thermal pressure in large shopping malls promotes the heat air rising from the bottom of the layer, forming a large vertical temperature gradient, which causes the hot in top and cold in bottorn and thermal discomfort. Combining temperature measurement in a shopping mall in Nanjing with CFD numerical simulation, presents a new method to reduce the vertical temperature gradient in large shopping malls. The measured results show that the vertical temperature difference is reduced from 3.8 ℃ to 1.3 ℃ by adopting the air adjusting control. Numerical simulation results show that the vertical temperature difference is reduced from 3.1 ℃ to 0.6 ℃ by reducing the top air supply, increasing the bottom air supply, and installing the baffles on the first layer, which effectively improves  the uniformity and comfort of the indoor temperature.
